French Candy Classic
The anise candy from a medieval abbey, now in a Paris-themed tin.

Anis de Flavigny has been making the same candy in the same abbey in Burgundy since 1591. Each piece is built around a single anise seed, coated over days in thin layers of flavored sugar. This limited edition tin has the lemon version, clean, slightly tart, and unmistakably French, dressed up with a Weekend in Paris design.

What makes it different

The anise seed center

Every Anis de Flavigny candy starts with a real anise seed at its core. The seed gives a subtle, warm finish that balances the lemon sugar around it. It's a small detail, but it's what separates this from any other hard candy.

The lemon flavor

Made with natural lemon extract, bright and clean with a gentle tartness. Not artificial candy-lemon, but something closer to lemon zest. The sweetness is there, but it doesn't overpower.

The oval tin

The Weekend in Paris design makes this tin stand out from the classic round tins. It fits easily in a pocket or bag. Once the candy is gone, it's worth keeping, these tins have a habit of sticking around.

Anis de Flavigny abbey in Burgundy, France — home of the original French anise candy since 1591
About the Maker

Making the same candy in the same abbey since 1591.

Anis de Flavigny is made in a Benedictine abbey in the small village of Flavigny-sur-Ozerain in Burgundy. The recipe has not changed: an anise seed at the center, coated over several days in thin layers of flavored sugar until it reaches the smooth, round shape you recognize.

No artificial colors. No preservatives. Each flavor uses natural extracts — the lemon version gets its taste from real lemon. It's one of the oldest candies still being made in France, and one of the most recognizable.
