About the Maker

A secret recipe, unchanged since 1632.

Meaux, a cathedral town 60km east of Paris, has been a center of mustard production since 771 AD. In 1760, a dignitary of Meaux Cathedral passed the canons' secret recipe to a stonecutter named J.B. Pommery, and the Pommery family has been making it the same way ever since.

Packed in an iconic stoneware jar with a natural cork lid, just as it appeared on French royal tables nearly four centuries ago. Voted best mustard in the world at the World-Wide Mustard Competition in 2019.
